CREATIVITY FACTOR

When I was a kid, or should I say when all of us were kids (of course at different points in time) we used to find out different ways to runaway from that big glass of milk…and our moms would always manage to find out different ways to make us drink that, I mean either by adding chocolate powder to it or by bribing us of a toffee for each glass of milk or something something… What would you call it? Love? Affection? Care? In fact it was about all of them. But can I say it was an application of creativity on her part to get that job done. Yes I can…. She knew we were bored of consuming that plain, white milk everyday so she just went out of the way a little and……and didn’t we enjoy those milkshakes and cold coffees. 

Yes……it is just about going out of your way a little and making life a creative escapade. All of us safely assume that creativity is about making paintings, creating sculptures, writing poetry or making plays or movies, and we can’t be creative in our day-to-day life or who has time to be creative in today’s fast world. Well……we humans are good at giving excuses. But here we are giving excuses to our own selves. Will anyone of you mind arranging things in a different way on your table or probably changing the angle of your computer screens and leaning on the other side of the table. Ya..Ya… I know your big management theories of motion study and time study but at least on a lighter day you can change your scheme of things a little and trust me it will be fun when you stretch your hand to grab your mouse and you find its not working. In fact for last few seconds you have been rubbing your mobile phone on table and your mouse is on the other side of the table. Then you will look around to see if someone saw you, and on finding yourself safe you will giggle a little and there you are.. you have just found a reason to laugh (which is a scarce commodity today). Now guess what….. all our sirs and ma’ams will say “ you stupid boy.. we have laptops. So no mouse at all”. Well…… no comments. 

Now on a serious note….Creativity is there within us. It is just a matter of unleashing it and we all can see a change. Not in the social structure of India, not even in the population figures but in the way we greet our colleagues even towards the end of the day. And it can work as a stress-buster (all the fans of Swami Ramdev please skip this line). Creativity factor is an essential part of our daily lives, avoiding which will not a make a difference but employing it will definitely do.

I don’t know how much space do they give to each entry in REFLECTIONS, so I will be economical with my words but ya.. I have to say a lot on it. My extension is 159 for all those who are interested (and even for those who are not interested the extension is same).

So people….. don’t mind trying a new road for your way back home when you just want to give a few more minutes to your own self (but keep an eye on your fuel meter) or even getting out of your cars and trying a simple kulfi from that small vendor you see every day on that big red-light wont be a bad idea.
